Hum Abort

A Hum tone is required by the state. Hum, or say the word "DO" while blowing.

Blow Harder

This means the breath sample delivered was insufficient. Blow into the device as if you were blowing into a balloon.

Low Battery

Displayed when the vehicle's battery is low. You will need to recharge or replace the battery to ensure the device continues to work effectively.

Blow Shorter

This means you have blown longer than the required time. Blow until the device beeps.

Blow Softer

This message appears when you are blowing too hard. Blow softer when you retest.

Handset-Base Communication

This message appears due to a communication error. Unhook one of your battery terminals for 2-3 minutes. After you reconnect the vehicle's battery terminal the device will function normal.

Lockout Starts

Displayed when your service date is coming. If you do not make it in, after 11:59pm on the date of lock out starting the device will say "LOCKOUT BEGINS", this is displayed when the device has entered the 7 day grace period. You will have 7 days to get to your local service center before the device permanently locks out.
